Drachen flieger aus Übersee dürfen nur fliegen, wenn sie Mitglied des South African Aero Clubs sind (aus Versicherungsgründen) Eine vorübergehende Mitgliedschaft ist möglich. Falls man nicht sein eigenes Fluggerät mitbringt ist man allerdings auf Club hilfen angewiesen, da es in Südafrika keinen offiziellen Drachenverleih gibt.

You may not hang glide in South Africa unless you have a license that has been checked and approved by the Aerodynamics Club. You are also able to rent equipment from these same clubs. Refer to the contact list below.

Hervorragend eignen sich zum Drachenfliegen die Nataler Drakensberge sowie die Tafelberg- Landschaft am Kap, allerdings nur in den Sommer- monaten.

Recommended sites for hang gliding: the Drakensburg all year round and Table Mountain and the surrounding Cape area in the summer.
